Our client is an established Engineering Consulting firm that offers engineering, construction, testing and commissioning and maintenance services of high voltage facilities in the Utility, IPP Generation, Oil & Gas, and Heavy Industrial sectors. Due to a number of new projects and continued growth they are currently searching for several Intermediate and Senior Electrical Substation Design Engineers. Key Responsibilities: - Design of electrical substation facilities including site and buswork layouts, ground grids, controls, protection, and metering.
- Delivery of accurate and thorough designs that will meet industry standards and specifications.
- Maintaining complete project documentation with respect to substation design and construction, including all completion packages, as-built requirements and return data information.
Core Skills: - A degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution, eligible for registration with APEGGA and a minimum of 5 years experience in transmission substation design, or:
- An Engineering Technologist Certificate from a recognized technical institution, combined with 5+ years of high voltage substation design, ideally within an electrical consulting or utility environment.
- Knowledge of Canadian and Alberta codes and standards, including OH&S Regulations, CSA and AECUC codes is an asset.
- Reporting to our client’s Principal Electrical Engineer, these positions require a high level of interpersonal communication skills, as well as demonstrated design experience. Occasional travel to site locations may be required.
